    SLT 780

    I looked at a SLT 780 hull ski today. Had lots of space in it. The front underneath it looks alot like a Virage hull. How much similarities do they have?

    Virtually the same hull, the top deck is of course different as is the domestic engine.

    Would a 1200 engine bolt right in, an what triple pipes would fit it?

    SLT -> SLTX -> Virage & Virage TX

    The late 1990's SLTX (and SLT, SLTH, SLTX-B/X-45 variants) begat the Virage, which has essentially the same bottom hull as the 2000+ Virage, but a different top deck.

    The 1999 SLTX-B (aka X-45 45th anniversary model) had the same 1200 engine as the Virage TX does.
    1999 was the first year for the 1200 engine, in the Genesis and the X-45.
    1999 was also the first year for the Ficht fuel injection, on the Genesis i.

    I have a note here that says;
    "The SLT750 hulls were actually fiberglass and not the SMC like the SL750. The fiberglass hulls were lighter than the SMC hulls, ran the same speeds."
    I don't know which model years SLT were fiberglass - perhaps all of them?

    The Virage is SMC bottom, FRC top deck
    SMC = Sheet Molded Compound
    FRC = Fiberglass Reinforced Composite

    No, the Fuji and Domestic engines require different mounts at the hull and of course the wiring harness is different.
    I'd buy the X-45 and then install trippples into that hull if you like the SLT.

    I can say that the 1995 SLT is fiberglass. And it will hold a triple pipe 785 with some mod's.

    But it used the "log" pipe and Bing carbs.
