    Help with Rebuild.

Guys if you have read about the motor I bought in the classifieds then you know I need a rebuild. So I need to start thinking about things to do to make it happen. So please let me know if I am on the right track?

I am thinking 1st over pistons
    Bore to match
polish the crank and get new oem bearings.
    new timming chain.
    new rod bearings
    New valves? ( any ideas?)

And if you haven't seen the motor. Look here and it is down the page.

unless u have a lot of wear on the cylinders i would just hone them and put new rings in new bearings polish the crank, new rod bearings, u should b able to clean up the valves and re seat them if they r not 2 bad

You shouldnt need to bore that engine. the cylinder walls look fairly clean. How much rust is in there?

You can buy a ball-hone and attatch it to a cordless drill at low speed. Just run it up and down evenly.

I was thinking of useing lighter valves and I can get new OEM take offs for around a $100. NOT sure about the walls being OK. They have some bad marks from rust, that I believe is to bad to hone.
I seat the valves with drill and a little piece of hose? Correct?

I thought the head bolts could be reused one time but I may be wrong. I am pretty sure that is the info i got from GH and others.

I have an brand new extra set of rocker bolts. I bought a new set last month not knowing that the riva valve train kit already had the bolts included.

There not much, I think like 35 bucks for the set. If you want them i can send them too you for a little less then what they are new shiped from store.

I think you are correct, but, I think this motor has been apart before and I am not gonna trust him.

You're not supposed to but some do. I would not because of the high boost and rpm you will be running. These engines will eat head gaskets for lunch if you dont have everything just right. Also the proper torque sequence for new bolts will not be the same for used bolts. Just my .02!
