is there any big difference between the R&D and Rive ride plate for the gp1200r? if so, which one is better.

I thought the GP12R plates were the same from Riva and R/d.

But it seems like most people are complaining about the R&D quality. Maybe Riva checks them out better and turns away the ones that look out of wack.

the r&d has skeggs and the riva doesn't. However the R&D molds are very bad off - as far as being "true"
We are all better off buying the plates from jim and having him do the corrective work right on the spot. He sells the R&D plate cheaper than R&D's "Retail" price anyway, so its a win-win situaton.

The original R@D and Riva plates were identical on the 1200r's.
Riva changed the plate slightly when the 03 efi's came out because of the setback pump.
They found these plates also worked well on the 1200gpr's with better rough water running, so they made these the plate for the 1200's as well as the 1300's.
However, the original Riva gpr1200 plate is faster on glass water than the newer 1300 plate.
There are people on here who know loads more about plates than me.
They might want to explain further.
