how do i check my TPS voltage

the instructions say to use the black wire with an orange stripe and the pink wire.

the tps however has 3 wires coming out of it- one black, one orange, and a pink...

is there somewhere else down the wiring system that these 3 wires become 2 wires (a black with orange stripe wire and a pink wire)?

You have to use the pink wire and the black/orange wire that are located by the CDI in the front of the ski.

skin the wires and leave the big connector that goes into the CDI plugged in.

tap the start button to illuminate the dash display.

the reading should be .8 volts at idle and about 3.75 WOT

cover up the exposed wire with tape or something. i used liquid electrical tape.

it helps to use extra wire with aligator clips that ussually come with test lights. You use the aligator clips where you skinned the black/orange and pink wires. and then you can work more comfortably.

if you dont do this it will be hard to push the start button and have your hands inside the hull with the wires and stuff at the same time...

Your welcome...merry x-mas to you bro.

BTW...the black wire is solid with an orange stripe. My tester has sharp probes,i just stabber the wire.If you strip the wire, and ride in salt water,it will erode in time.Just stick the wire instead, then make sure its sealed after.

Maybe a better idea out there, its just how i did mine.
