99 ultra 150 help- hits 6krpm then stays at 42-4800

revs high then bogs down until you let off the gas , then hit it again up to 6 or more then down to 4k's. Let me know what you think. put a new cdi box with coils in , no go. new plugs. Carbs were recently rebuilt, checked slides and they open. There is no tiger striped ground on the 99.

going to try the exhaust temp sensor. Thanks Joe

I had the same problem with a 900 2 stroke, I hope you figure it out.

Stock? How old are the fuel lines? What does it do on the hose?

85 hours on it, original lines. runs good on the trailer. You put it in the water hits 6 then bogs down to 4k's stays at that until you let off the gas then does it again.

Check your pump your impellers probably hitting the cone. The bearings are gone.

pump is frozen on the studs, going to have to pull it but did have it somewhat apart and everything rolled real nice and smooth no binding, seems tight.

It shouldn't be the exhaust temp sensor.

Next time you have it out feel each of the heads, is one cooler then the others?

I think you are having a fuel delivery problem. I would first look at all the fuel lines/selector switch and make sure they are all clear and not clogged. Then remove the fuel pump and check for any tears in the diaphragm.

diaphram is good. have to run new lines. but i would think the lines are fine it will sit there and run no problem just not high rpm mbut going to do it anyway.

Look to see if the impeller is hitting the wear ring. You would see burn marks on the edges and grooves in the metal of the ring.
