    Cavitation??......Help!!!!!

Just pulled my exit nozzle/pump/prop out of my SHO with offSHOre Animal and i think we found the reason why I've been bouncing off the rev-limiter constantly....besides a pitted prop........it seems im suffering from apparent pre-prop cavitation.....

    What do u guys think?

pump has strange 'scrape' marks....wear ring feels pretty smooth for a ski with 110 hours....and the prop is pitted in the center of each blades trailing edge.....

thanks to pipidulce.....might have found the main reason why my ski is cavitating so badly........

he felt a slight movment of the shaft in the pump........pulled the cone bolts out and the cone seemed pressureized as it lifted as the bolts were backed out......all of a sudden the 'blob' oozed out everywhere...i shudder (no pun intended) to think of what my bearings look like with that crap in there.....

any1 up for some yummi milkshake....

    Thx again Renae......

yummy! but i can't see how that would caise cavitation. what's teh clearance on the wear ring?

Is that the stock prop? That's one hell of a swirl design did skat or solas release anythiing yet?

water and grease = diminished protection for bearing s and pitting......pitting causes grinding of bearings (especially at 8, 000 rpm) which causes increased clearances and shaking/cavitation and wearing of wear ring

no props yet for the SHO.....torque is so uber they cant figure out a way to make the prop keep its shape....
