    Need setup help - 07 250X

    Need help on setup for 2007 Ultra 250x. It will be used mainly for Supercourse and Endurance racing with a little CC action thrown in. I am looking to race in stock class. I have the TBM ride plate, scoop grate and sponsons and I really like the way they make the boat handle, but I think there is more to be had.

    To pump seal kit or not?

    Impros re-pitched impeller or aftermarket?

    Pump wedge kit?

    R&D intercooler upgrade?

    Anything else that will help, please let me know.

    R&D grate may be better in the rough as guts chop,
    r&d plate and 1 deg wedge,
    stay with stock impeller,
    intercooler upgrade the jw way,
    4" air filter,
    get bov adj kit,
    egr block off,
    catch can mod,
    500gph bildge pump,
    8 deg timing.

    thats about it for stock class me finks.

    and check your pump bearings every 20 - 40 hours.

    if you don't want to play fair, you could put the jetworx pulley kit in too, just don't tell anyone not even your wife.

    Try to consider getting a riva plate it gave good results to me in cc and endurance race too. the riva plate helps in turning on bouys.

    Riva plate sucks in corners, Nose is too high

    just my .02cents

    and Riva also is a piece of junk in rough water ( open water ocean)

    The TBM plate is the best for turning, it drops the nose and whips the ass of the 250 around the bouys. When the manual lever comes out you can trim on demand for rough stuff. The cheapest mod you can do is the timing mod. (good for 2 MPH)

    Stay away from the intercooler mod..It isnt legal in Stock class per APBA rules! Stay away from the following due to not being allowed in Stk Class...Yes always check your pump bearings Too!

    intercooler upgrade the jw way,
    get bov adj kit,
    egr block off,
    catch can mod..Not sure yet on the timing mod..Waiting for the clarification on the rules at the APBA meeting in a couple of weeks!

    To pump seal kit or not? YES by R&D!
    Also DO NOT install an aftermarket Air filter!! The Stock OEM air box works just fine and helps not getting water ingestion in your Supercharger! TRUST ME!!!

    Here is my set up that brought me my Titles this year in Supercourse!

    R&D Carbon Ride Plate
    R&D Intake Grate
    RIVA Sponsons (all the way back and down position)
    Reworked Stock Impellor by Macc Racing/Bill Chapin
    R&D Drop-in Filter Breather (Under glove box)
    15-F Stering Neck with Renthal Bars and ODI grips
    Apdesigns Custom Seat Cover & Mats
    All extra hoses NOT needed Removed (DO NOT remove hoses under Hood cowling near ECU box)
    Reverse system removed
    Step up big boy ladder removed
    Mirrors removed Replaced w/MaccRacing Carbon Fiber Mirror Block offs
    Front Storage compartment "Swiss Cheesed" with air flow holes in front (NOT Stock legal, Taped up when ran Stk Class)
    EIX Spark Plugs

    The intercooler mod is stock legal. Stock rules state you may add or reroute water cooling lines. You may also add water bypass fitting in stock class.

    Is the R&D nozzle wedge legal for stock-class? Is it worth it?

    Is the R&D pump cone legal as well?

    R&D Pump cone is NOT legal and DO NOT recommend the wedge..Its hurts your overall perf more than anything.

    The Intercooler mod is in question right now skip! I agree that it SHOULD be legal as the rules state..More for reliability than anything..But we will see.
