Blocking off visibility spout & siphon bilge tube.

Did some work to the venturi nozzle today. Removed the visibilty spout and siphon bilge tube. Decided to tap the holes to 1/8 npt and insert plugs in addition to JB weld. Also dressed the inside of the nozzle where the bump is for the spout tube.

for the siphon tube, I removed the cast in barb, drilled an tapped, set a brass pipe plug in JB weld. After this fully cures I will shave the top of the plug off and make flush, just bc...

I will fill the interior holes later...

What did you use to remove the siphon tube? Will a few wacks with a mallet break it free or did you drill it out?

A dremel tool works best. Smooth out inside and take hump out then JB weld
    the hole.

no drill, I warmed up the outside part of the nozzle where it comes thru and had a drift pin that fit perfectly and tapped it out. Go easy or you could mushroom the tube. On the very end of the tube (inside nozzle) I also collapsed the tube by giving it a whack with a sharp chisel to cause a crease, then squeezed the tube smaller similar to crimping on spark plug wires. This gave me a ledge for the drift pin to rest on while I gently tapped it the rest of the way out.

Was it that obvious that I have more fun with a hammer than a dremel?
