    What's the going speed

With all this pump, porting, package and rideplate talk.. I am soooo confused.

What is the going speed for a 1200 non ported motor without package secrets? (VFIII, JetWorks, etc)

What is is with the package?

I need a speed to shoot for!

are you talking about a 1200 in BONE stock form? Or a 1300 in BONE stock form?

Compared to the fastest? Or compared to an average increase in speed??

This one is a tough one to nail out because almost everyone here is running a mixed set-up with different parts and/or some form of wierd modification ---there are almost no apples to apples anymore because there are different tuners, porting, parts, hulls, pumps, reeds, prop pitch, carbs or efi, compression, plates & grates, -----see where i am going with this???????????

If i was held at gunpoint and told to tell the avg speed increase from the showroom floor would be>>>>
    1) 1200 stock to the package = 62mph(stock) >>> 72 or 73 avg. (Stock Carbs)
    2) 2003/2004 1300 stock to the package = 64mph(stock)>>> 75 or 76+ (EFI)
    3) 2005/2006 1300 stock to the package = 66mph(stock)>> 76 or 77 (with EFI)

All of this assuming that the bore size stays the same (80mm=1200) (84mm=1300)

    Hope that this helps.

My stock Junkyard 1200 motor with a Pro-Tec head that I pieced together went 77.7 mph a few yours ago. Thats with NO VF3 reeds and NO jet works valve. And NO Advent Ignition and stock OEM carbs. It does have Jim's plate and the handling package with Fercho special pitched package prop. But don't shoot for that speed, I have only been working
on my boat a few weeks, I plan on raising the bar much higher.

    Well,

You can see my post... I have a STOCK 1200R motor with Island Racing carbs, VFIII, a R&D Head and all of the known tricks on the board today (and maybe a few that are not) I am running a 14/20, Advent CDI, R&D Plate, Double Bar grate and proX pistons (engine rebuild).

My ski is far from tuned and that is my first order of business this year.

I know it's fast... I eat Kawi's and go toe to toe with RXPees. I just want to know what numbers I should be headed to.
