What happened to all the smaller skis???
Please dont think Im bashing anyone for riding any type of ski here. I think all different PWCs have their purpose. My question is why are the manufacturers only making these great big things??? What happened to the smaller versions like the X2 and the Blaster? Not everyone wants a smooth comfortable ride with the whole family. Some of us still like to rip it up and there is nothing available new anymore. I know there is a video out of a guy doing some sick nose stabs on a big 3 seater, but its not the normal way people ride those. I have also seen the new X2 that is not available in the U.S. and kinda like it, but cant get one. Ive been riding for almost 20 years and started on a Kawasaki 440. Now I own a whole fleet of skis that range from a 650SX to a pair of Sea Doo GSXs. I love them all, but what happened to the smaller performance skis?????????
Sorry if this didnt seem to go any where, I just had a rant and wanted to see if anyone else feels the same.

Now you know why the conversion section is rather popular on here....

Kaw still makes a stand up the sxr and with a few bolt on's they are a fun ride. Have you rode a Hydro space (stand up)? A friend of mine has one actually has both the sxr and Hydro space - they are both cool machines. Personally I like the sxr better than the Hydro space.

Im not really lookin at the standups here. I know they are still around and I own a few. The sit down skis are all getting so HUGE! Why is this? Every site I go on there are people that are devoted to the X2 and Blaster, yet the factorys seem to ignore this section of the market. Why do they think that EVERYONE wants a 800 pound 250 horsepower boat? Are they really that narow minded that they cant see any other market? I guess that since the learning curve is short (once again... not trying to bash or insult anyone with this) the new owner can actually enjoy their ski the same day. But think about this... How would it be if there were only one style of car available? Think if all the Corvettes and Vipers and Porsches were discontinued? Now all you can get are Cadillacs and Mercedes... That just wouldnt make sence...
And YES the SXRs are an amazing ski!

Yeah, you are out of touch. These new boats are ONE THOUSAND POUNDS WET...
800lbs is an average or SMALL ski these days.
Sad ain't it.

Some of the new skis are amazingly fast!!! No doubt about that, but is this the direction we really want to go with this sport???

IF ONLY seadoo brought back the x4.. or something similar size/design..
I think there would be a market for it. Apparently the people in Seadoos research dept dont think so..
