Was not impressed with new IC any ideas??
I installed the RR IC and did see 50 more RPM's over my best smooth water number.
I was at 8050rpms in smooth water now I pulled 8100 all day in the chop.
We were not able to get any radar runs but if I was guessing I would think Maybe 71mph.
The boat seemed to have lost it's pull that it had.
Don't get me wrong it is still fast but has anyone else had this happen?
I am wondering if a prop pitch is in order?
Could I have lost boost pressure?
BTW the water temp was 87 deg, and the outside temp was around 80-85 it rained quite a bit so humidity was probably really high.
I thought the temprature drop could account for the RPM gain but who knows.
So lets here the suggestions.... I want my midrange pull back!

You should be nailing the rev limiter with loads more acceleration.
Are you certain you have the stock intercooler blockoff installed correctly and leak free? Is the O ring on the blockoff? Are your IC plumbing connections tight? Do you have the water feed line from the pump on the lowermost fitting on the IC?
Those are just some of the things you need to check.

The IC block off could be an issue. I will check that later.
The pump is feeding the lower fitting on the left side looking from the front.
The upper fitting is going to the exhaust manifold.
Could a small leak at the IC BO plate cause that big of a problem??
I bought an O ring and cut it down to get it installed but did not use any sealer

It pisses me off that Rotax Racing does not supply an O ring with their blockoff plate. This would save lots of headaches for their "valued" customers. On the 04 models it's easy as you just reuse an O ring off of your stock intercooler. The 05's have that wacky rubber band for a seal.
Make sure the O ring you bought fits properly and to make sure you are getting a good seal. Use some silicone!

I will pull it out tonight or tomorrow.
Am I loosing boost pressure through the BOP?

I think you need the RR Racing ECU to get the most out of the RR IC. I get that feeling anyway. That's why I don't understand the logic on the Riva Stage II kit.

No, you are losing boost pressure thru your stock IC blockoff plate!

Is there any reason to get back into that hole that we are blocking off?
If not I will coat it really well with some ultra black.
If so I will be a little liberal.

Jarrett why the need for the ECU do you think?
You have me wondering as well.
