96 Tigershark 770 Daytona intake grate help

I got this one cheap and spent a little getting it tuned as it has swallowed some sand from a guy getting to crazy on it. My son loves the power with the small body to get squirly. Need to clean it up for this Spring and will post some pics. It came with a broken intake so this would be great to fix. Will PM you on the deal for the grates.

Will these intake grates work on a 97 1000 daytona? Any performance parts for sale?

I don't think so. Those grates that he has the pics of are for a 96 daytona 770 and the 1000 has a bigger pump.

Which grate would work best?

Do I need the extra wing or only for the rough stuff?

Or should I get the one with just the deeper fins?

Depends on what type off riding you do or like to ride in. Deep fin (one with the fin in the middle 2nd pic)would be good for hook up in rough, but not so good on peek smooth water speed. The one without the fin in the middle (1st pic)might be good for peek smooth water speed.

Will post pics as I get 'er cleaned up. Need to replace the starter now as it died. Bummer - but it was soso when I got it.

Is there a site to get a free downloadable service manual like with Polaris?

Or having any tips/tricks on replacing the starter. I heard it is burried.
