EVERYONE WITH A MODDED GPR
It's happening time and time again----Pump tunnels are blowing and they will continue to. It's very important that you reinforce your tunnles before this happens to you.
There are 2 popular ways to do this and they are all explained in the "how-to" section of the forum. Lots of info on this here on this forum, so please look at it and consider it. It's a lot easier to fix it before it breaks rather than fixing it after a blow-out.
Like AIDS, no one wants it----so protect it. And yes its a pain in the butt and a little time consuming, but better safe than sorry.
many people will probably chime in and share some stories about this -- after that i think you will be convinced. Not telling you guys what to do, just trying to offer a little insurance.

Im in full agreement. I had a similar crack in my '00 GPR, but it was around the rear pump shoe insert not the tunnel. I was taking water at speed but not while sitting. I finally found the problem by having my buddy run my ski at speed while I had my head in the engine compartment, kneeling on the back of the ski (one hell of a sight running across the lake Im sure) with the elec box laying in the bottom of the ski so I could see my pump tunnel while running, saw water coming in around insert. When I pulled my pump shoe off I found the crack. Heres a link to how I repaired the crack and did the R&D carbon reinforcement. After doing this I have much more peace of mind and no more water in the hull.
Be sure and check out the Babe of the Day on my homepage......theres a new one everyday

Yep, my 02' is getting this as soon as R&D gets the tunnel reinforcements back in stock. I'm installing the tunnel reinf and the brackets.

I dont think this problem come from speed it self. It is a by product from us wanting to go faster. I believe it is from the added pressure from pumping more water through the tunnel. I have worked with fiberglass many times. It is not a difficult process. I would recomend reinforcing the tunnel if you are doing any type of propulsion upgrades.
