Thread: Loss in RPM

    Loss in RPM

After 20 - 40 min of hard running ski drops RPM from 8550 to about 7650. After Ski is parked up and turned off for about 15 min its back pulling 8550.

We have checked SC Clutch slip & its fine & is still at the same slip setting as it was when intalled.

Prob apprears to be temp related unless its a coil etc?

Ski is 05 RXT, ported heads, near new Rude1, pirahna inntercooler, riva ecu, 50# injecters, RRFR etc etc.

    Any ideas??

With OEM ECU, SC slip causes RPM to drop from 8100 to the 7600. But I understand the RPMs are back to normal after a short rest. Plus you are going from 8550 to 7650. I don't think it is temp. You are losing 900 RPM! Possible intermitten boost leak? Be patient others will chime in.

Hmmmm....is it bogging at all or no?

No, its not bogging, we're going hook it up & see if there are any faults recorded then try a Stage 3 Riva SC to see if its a SC problem or not.
    Strange!!!

It's been my experience that the magic number is around 6700RPM when you throw your clutch washers.. It sounds like your sucking alot of hot air or you could have a leaky IC.. Check your plugs, Gas, hoses, clamps and if you recently installed a IC block off plate, make sure you have a good seal to your intake.

This also happens when you blow off the SC to IC hose due to under tightened clamps(I've done this twice)
