    Buying used on Greenhulk

I bought a Riva intercooler used from a greenhulk member in June. Due to circumstances, it did not get installed until December. It leaked and put water in the engine. My question is this, can leaving it sit on a shelf in my shop cause the leak. The response I received from the person I bought it from and a friend of his that implied it was a good deal was I probably caused the leak by letting it sit. I was told that it had been sitting when I bought it,and there wasn't anything wrong with it. I'm new to jet skis, did build street rods for years never had parts go bad on the shelf.

    buying used

I hate to say it but your right. Expected to much I guess he did offer to pay for half the oil I used to flush the engine. I'll be very selective in what I buy used from now on, never had problems with items bought from other people.

I feel bad for u! and I would imagine if so much time had not past it would have been better for the compensation or return factor ?plus the real chance that this issue was unknown by all
. I wonder if the cooler can be repaired? Z

I think you post the user name, so others can be aware of this person.
They are some dead beats out there.

    used parts

Your right it is unfortunate that I waited so long to install it. I don't think anything can be done to it , really can't see taking a chance with it. I have been debating whether to post the name, telling me that it was probably my fault doesn't sit well.

I don't agree! there was a lot of time that past before the install and there may be more to this ? This post is a good starting place in my opinion

This is why we have set that all new users must have atleast 50 posts before they can post any item for sale, this is to stop people from simply singing up and posting many items for sale right away...And although we are a tight community here, some low lifes do get by.

    used parts

The personI bought it from has been a member for a couple years. I won't sell anything unless I would be happy receiving it if I bought it.

IC's are a touchy issue, because they can develope leaks at anytime from anything. If it came from salt water, and was not fully rinsed before stored, then the salt can eat the aluminum over time while sitting on a shelf...
