finally went to the lake after hull repair

Went to lake today, lots of chop, yamaha fixed my pump shoe so i needed to test it, no water leaks, got my jet works opening at 3800 rpm, dont know how fast i got up to but a fellow jet skier said he was running 60 mph...i went by him like a freight train, ski was very fast, i pulled 7280 rpm (p.e.t. tach) on a solis 14/20 ,felt real good,my hole shot with the jet works is a muther...something happened that is interesting, while hauling ass across the lake(speedo said 85, lie) i jumped off the throttle real quick, the ski nosed over and plowed the water,i thought i was going over the bars, good thing i had a good grip ...it only did it when i was rung out and balls to the walls...i was approaching some rough water and needed to slow down...my jims plate really added speed i can feel it.....couldnt find any rxp"s but i did skin an older xp.......

I'm looking at your mods and I don't see an intake grate. If you're running over 70, which you should be with those mods, you're going to kill yourself using a stock intake grate. That may be why it nosedived on you.

what kind of grate do you suggest...it nosed over hard and plowed only when going full speed and chopping the throttle...it never did this before, but i was not going as fast as i am now......if im gruising at around 50 and chop the throttle it glides real smooth.

Mine nosed over when I installed my new ride plate from Jim. I was runnning 68mph and let off the throttle and the rear lifted. I now have an aftermarket double bar grate. Has not done it since.

I have an R&D 800 grate for top speed and a riva 1200 grate for all around. 800 grate is suppose to be a little faster mph .5 - 1mph
I have not tested my 1200 grate yet.

a 1200 grate will hook up awsome. A 800 grate is 1 mph. faster but hookup is not as good it cavitates of the line.
