951 x4 waterboxes, what are you using?

Doing some mock fitting into the 96xp for the exhaust swap, and was curious what you 951 x4 guys are using for waterboxes? also what modifications did you do to make them fit into the hull. the gsx limiteds waterbox seems awfully big to get in there, any pictures or pointers would help a ton! Thanks in advance

I cant remember who I was talking to but they were using an XPDI water box...supposedly made the best HP.
I think that I'm going to try the GTX box first

see the problem im seeing is major fitment issues, theres either gonna have to use a modified box to fit, or do a helluva lot of fiberglassing. this is why im wondering who did what , cuz if need be, im cuttin the box up to fit

well the problem is the flat side of the waterboxes when swapping exhaust over, are now on the wrong sides (800 waterbox) and the gsx limited box i have is freaking huge and will not fit down the alleyway on the x4 hull. (im calling it alley way, the narrow part on the rear, where the exhaust orignally exits out), maybe im just using the wrong waterbox for this application? or maybe just get a TDR waterbox(since they are smaller to being with) and that might just clearu p any problem of fitment.

well based on a just pictures, im not noticing much of a difference between the 98+ xp box and the gsx LTD box. But i do notice my gsx box is wrapped in rubber/foam, wonder if there is any reason for that? thats prolly adding another 1/4" thickness to the box. interesting. does it need to be there or can i remove it and have the same box the xp's had?

I plan on leaving the water box in the original location. I think that im going to try to do what the XPL's do and jump the exhaust from the stinger to the waterbox over the drive shaft and back over to the stock exhaust port

tdr waterbox off my 97 spx fits in there and with a slight angle on it, will fit in perfectly with zero modifications to the right side of the hull. not sure how it lines up though with the 951 engien and pipe in place, will have to do more research once i get that stuff in, but that maybe the best way to do this without major modding.... if using the tdr 800 waterbox is feasable, even tho the inlet is different, it could compensate for a gutted box and create the backpressure that would be lost from a gutted box like the tdr.

from what I hear a TRD will work fine on a stock motor but will end up detonating a modded motor...or something to that effect
