100cc yamahas. Check out the huge carbs these things have! A whopping 25.4mm carb.
Took them to the shop at work. The wife doesn't know about them yet.

I had a high school friend that raced those beasties. Holy canoli could those things fly. Geez, there's nothin' like having your butt 2" off the ground going 50+ MPH on a dirt circle track. There not too bad when you first take off, but when that clutch hooks up, hang on to your hat Mertle cause we're goin' for a ride.
I did a few laps in my buddy's a couple of times and that was plenty for me. I'm okay with go-fast toys but my survival instincts are much stronger than my need for speed.

Yup, they're still a secret. I just hope my boy can keep them a secret till I can at least get them both running before I introduce the idea to my wife.
I cleaned up a carb the night before last, and had to go on a "few service calls" yesterday. While on those calls, I cleaned the tank, and replaced the fuel, and pulse lines. Installed the carb, and fired the yellow one up. It started easily. I was surprised how easy it was to start. They haven't been run in years. I found I had to go for a test drive. Man! What a blast! The asphalt around the shop makes for a nice small oval track.
I've gotta find a 50cc engine for my son, as I think the 100 is too much to start him out on. The black kart is setup for his size, but the seat is too wide. I need to find a smaller seat, or alter one of the spares I have. He can't reach the pedals on the yellow one. He is having trouble waiting to take one for a ride. I'm anxious to get him in one too.
