    anybody know?

When taking the carbs off the 1200 motor, I take it you can't just take the carbs off. Do you have to take that plate that its bolted onto off as well? Is there a gasket in between the bracket and the fernando plate?

should be a gasket on both sides of the spacer plate (one between carbs and plate, and one between plate and case).

but can you take the carbs off without having to take the plate off, or does it have to come off as well before the carbs can come off?

you should be able to take each individual carb off away from the plate but some of the bolts go through the carbs as well as the spacer (same bolts).

Be sure to undo the throttle linkage first though as well as the main fuel line, return line and oil lines too.

alright, well I took the 6 bolts out (2 from each carb - main bolts) and still cannot budge the carbs off the plate, the black one that its mounted to. The black one is then mounted to the spacer. Does the black spacer have to come off with the carbs? I brought the hammer out, but thought I better ask before I start to whack at the carbs. And if the black spacer has to come out as well, I see there are 2 bolts on each side in between the carbs, but they are some funky looking things, do you unscrew those as well? If so, what do you use because it looks weird or do I take the black backing plate off as well with the carbs? Frustrated over here.

yes- those must come off too--- the carbs are bolted onto the backside of the plate -- so the plate and the carbs all come off togather- there are 4 more allen head bolts (2 inbetween each carb) that must come off as well as the 6 longer bolts that go through th carbs)... then the plate will come off, then you unbolt the carbs from the back of the plate

Well, I figured it out already, but thanks for the reply. I couldn't figure out what the little black things were on the 4 bolts until I finally got one off.
Phillip, I've used the hammer many times, hahahahaha, works well and is my favorite tool.
