Woman crashes personal watercraft into trees in PSL
PORT ST. LUCIE — A woman in her early 20s was flown to a trauma center after losing control of a personal watercraft Sunday and crashing into some trees on an island near the River Park Marina, a St. Lucie County Fire District spokeswoman said Monday.
Fire district officials were called about 12:35 p.m. to the incident in the 500 block of Southeast Prima Vista Boulevard.
“It took us 40 minutes to extricate her,” Fire District spokeswoman Catherine Chaney said.
The woman — the only person on the watercraft — sustained multiple injuries and was flown south to a trauma center in stable condition, Chaney said. The injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
