    Another Stock 1300 70mph+ Update

I just tested my new dynafly 14/20 prop. I have an '06 GPR with only stepped sponsons, Riva plate from Jim at performance PWC, and 800 grate. I was running 68mph+ at 1/4 tank of fuel turning the stock prop 7280-7300rpm.
Added PPK and dynafly 14/20, at 1/2 tank of fuel I managed 70.2mph
4 different times and once in the opposite direction. This is in hotter 78 degree weather vs. 70 degrees with the stock prop. Probably could have ran 71mph with low fuel.

The down side is its only turning 6860rpm Ski feels sluggish.
I'm waiting on heads and flame arrestor so I can put the efi controller and d-plate on. I plan to ride some tomorrow...Is it ok for the engine to only turn 6860rpm?

    Stock 14/20DF turning 6860 at 70.2 mph??? That's interesting!

Good numbers! Get some reeds, jetoworks, d-plate (w/EFI) and you'll be flying!!!

True! On the tiny tack it was turning stock prop 7300. With the 14/20 it goes to 6850 and slowly creeps up. Max rpm was 6880
It ran 69.6mph with trim in neutral and 70.2 one step up.

6860 is low.Get the DF reeds/cages,milled head,EFI, race filter,D plate and you will be running 72-73 mph range.Do you have a good tach?

Careful Ronn...........if you're running below 6950 with that prop you are at risk for detonation........you need to get your RPM"s up above 6950.

7000 would be even better. Do NOT overload that engine.

Depending on the modle you can adjust it. Hit the select button until you see a degree reading, either 360*, 180*, 120* or some degree reading. This is for the comercial modle... This will determine how you wrap the wire on the plug wire. So if it's at 360* you should have one wrap on each plug wire. If it's at 120* you would have one wrap on one plug wire. Make sence?

The issue I had was the wire was around one wire and was picking up part of the signal from the wire next to it. Easy fix.

I'm not sure how to do it if it's not that one.

Do you have pictures of how the wire is wrapped? post it I can offer up more input. I had the same thing on mine.

i would get a pet 2100dx tach before going back out. Something is fishy here (not the speed), but i am worried about your ski loading like that. IF those rpms are actually spot on accurate from the tiny tach, then i would do as mark says above (hydrotoys).

Good speeds, and good luck on this!

I'd suggest you install the EFI controller. It will get more fuel to the motor. (more fuel creates more cooling which lowers the chance of motor failure)

You can also raise the rpms by taking a hammer and hitting the siphon tube in the pump nozzle so that it doesn't protrude into the flow of the water as much. It is best to remove the nozzle first when you do this. (most of us simply remove it entirely and fill teh hole with JB Weld.

If you had a 87 mm pump nozzle to use that would also raise the rpms.
