Best Saltwater Intercooler??
OK...it's Intercooler upgrade time!! Who makes the best saltwater intercooler that can take the pounding experienced riding offSHOre? Best quality materials and build?
Piranha? XS? Rotax? Riva? Frozenboost? R&D?
The stock SHO IC is a joke.....time to upgrade.............

Riva, you know better. Just do a search on all those issues. Piranha seems to be holding up pretty well, they anodize the core. Rotax seemed to do great in salt, but there were so few of them out there (at least by people willing to share their experiences). The XS IC's will leak, but they seem to hold up better than Riva and for the price if you have to replace it no big deal.
Best advice I can give you on IC's is to take care of them. Flush them and rinse them with salt away after every ride. They're all aluminum and as we all know salt and aluminum don't mix. Your BEST bet is to get a sacrificial zinc anode and put it on your IC, then connect a wire to the engine block I think (I haven't done this I ride fresh water). Try a search on the anode. Those seem to help a lot. Good luck. You're platform is so new your options are limited so it's going to be a trial an error issue for now. Let me know how it goes whatever you choose, I'm keeping an eye on all this.

Keep it stock,
Unless you are willing to open your wallet to the max!
Even then , where are you going to be?
I just added a Xs intercooler to my Rxp and just paid more for a rear exhaust then I paid for my WHOLE inter cooler and plumbing.
Keep it stock and make what you got hook up.

I saw R&D offers replacement cores for the stock set-up - makes for an easy install - no idea on how well they would work

good stuff guys....might have to look into the zinc anode install.......
Mark...part of me wants to keep the intercooler stock but these ski's r breathing such blow-dryer hot air eight now that an aftermarket IC is just ez horsepower....plus i can't have ur RXP beating me during the club rides...
no...seriously tho.....want to install a boost gauge also so if this things start to have a leak I'll be able to 'gauge' it besides seat-of-the-pants feel.....hrmmmm
