I have not seen this happen before but have seen the ecu reset itself from disconecting the battery but it does not usualy affect the tps. Are you sure your throttle body or throttle lever are not sticking? Also make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks or cracked intake manifold.

That's all you did...remove the negative cable and replace it and it caused a reduction in RPMs OR did you remove the negative cable, add the new TPS and bypass valve, then reconnect the negative cable?

    I meant what you know.

I'm with speedski...I'm at a loss. Check everything from throtte cable, TB, etc, etc, etc.

You would think it would be electronic-related, but...

Sounds like TPS faulty. They do get water in them.I conected my test gear to it and ran the live data programme and my tps reading was jumping all over the place 0.00 to 6.89 with out touching the throtle.Just am idea

as a good rule of thumb. Never disconect the negative cable first. You can damage electrical parts. Always disconect positive first. That's what I live by.

Take it in to the dealer and have them plug it into B.U.D.S. That will tell you if yor TPS is set right.
