Removal of D plate as a mod

Has any one tried to remove the D plate in a gpr stinger? And with this add another restricter plate in a water box to compensate the back pressure? Thanks Lee

Haven't tried but have explored the restrictor in the end of the stinger idea and talked extensively with an expert about this. I think removing the d-plate may harm your scavenging but it is worth a try.

the testing was done with NO D-plate in place. Scavenging was affected, power was lost due to a drop in RPMs and a different throttle response. This was with the OEM sound suppression in place.

but, as for running NO D-plate and a different means of restriction, I don't know of any other testing, just the CAT-Con removal and D-plate removal.

I think Phillip GPR, VOODOO, Carl, Fercho, Ray in Japan, Hydrotoys, Tommy Jordan, InsanediegoJoe, Pistonwash may remember some conversation over this topic of NO D-plate....

pretty sure an open D plate would slow you down - it should help low and mid though

I don't know of any attempts at trying to raise back the back pressure using some other means

I always wanted to try it but never did. I would think that if you had an adjustable plate at the exhaust outlet along with no D plate and a free flow things could get interesting with some testing.
