    What is a rideplate mod

I was looking at pics and reading about them but besides welding skegs on. What is the Jims mod or others do? Even reading about it in the store says send your plate for conversion. What is being converted?

That is what I was thinking. It doesn't tell me what the outcome is speed, handleing or good looks? I am not trying to figure out any secret.

There is alot that can be done to these plates... but everyone has a different approch and theories behind it! But for the most part... you should see better handling & at least a 1 mph gain.

I want to do it myself. It would take me 10 min with my TIG to weld skegs on.

I think everyone is talking about the ride plate mod... not just adding skegs

Your plate is sanded down to have a more agressive angle which will give you more lift therefore getting the bow of your ski out of the water more and giving you more top speed. The skegs augment this by providing even more lift.
