Check with a local plastics distributor for UHMWPE strips. Maybe they have some scrap pieces that would work.

Mine are all plastic. they came in on a trailer years ago at the dealer I used to work at. I swapped them for my carpeted ones and never looked back....

I have had countless offers to buy these bunks off my trailer.
As far as making some, I have no idea.

I seen a pack of 6 at my local boaters world for 19.99. they come in packs of 6 or 8 and each in different lengths. Not sure if you have a Boaters World nearby

Here is a pack of 10 for 36.99.

I have tried every slide out on the market. All went to the trash except the brand From surfixinc.com Fast turn around they have multiple sizes I have used the 1 &1/2 wide and the 3 inch wide. They hold up for many years. It is better than plastic,The plastic one's tend to mark up the hull These do not make marks on the hull! I have done atleast 10 double trailers 5 singles and built a boat ramp in the back yard to drop the boats in the water. I will post up another pic of the ramp in a min. 1-99 is the same shipping price Check them out If you use this brand make sure you have your stuff tied down or it will come off the trailer. Thanks Lee
