    Sea Doo GTI Four Stroke What problems have you had?

    Hey guys have you had any problems with your Sea Doo GTI either the 130 hp or the 155 hp four stroke model............

    Have an 02 GTX 4 stroke, no problems.

    with normal maintenance... u'll probably never see a single issue with these skis ever... they are as bulletproof as they come

    rule #1.... dont hydrolock a 4-tec


    can't blame that on seadoo.. that's just user OOPS, sorry

    That was caused by a hydro lock? Or it was run (after being hydrolocked) with a bent rod.

    it was being ridden and it just came apart at top speed, no hydro lock here, just a crappy connecting rod.

    i'm sorry... i dont mean to start a fight or a pissing match...

    that rod was hyrolocked at some point.. either you have no idea it was, or it took on water at some point, or something happened... looks to me it was continued to be run with a slightly bent rod, and eventually blew itself apart...

    bad rods just dont happen on these things.. water.. even a little bit... is THE number one killer of 4-tec motors... and in my opinion, probably the opinion and many other mechanics here maybe, or maybe i'm alone! and trust me the opinion of seadoos tech department would be that's a hydrolocked bent rod

    dont want to see one of the most bulletproof watercraft powerplants get a bad rap over one picture that was not a mfg defect in my opinion at all or just some fluke rotax motor failure.

    aside from the rust marks embedded in the cylinder cross-hatch as well as the rust on the rod and on the crank... ie water was inside that motor once at some point

    Just like Shibby posted it sure looks like a lot of water got in, it can also hydrolock from leaking intercooler.
