    Jetski security

    Hey guys.

I ride a GP1200R. Now anyone can jump on the ski and ride off if you leave your ski unattended. Had a good idea from a friend. Put an inline key switch off the positive lead off the battery. This should stop anyone from just jumping on and riding off. Would this work?

    Cheers

That would have to be a big key switch to handle the size of the battery cables. Some guys put a marine battery on/off switch inline.

If you are just worried about theft, just disconnect or put a switch to open the water temp sensor (rear of stinger pipe).

I took an Yamaha Ignition switch and cut one wire thatīs going to the kill switch. The switch is in the waterproof compartment.
Advantage: Looks OEM like and stealth to.

    Hydro,

That looks good. Would save having to lift the seat to do whatever you needed to do and show the ski is somewhat secure in terms of sitting on it and taking off.

Be good to know where to get one from.
