Thread: No Power?

    No Power?

    I have a 02 gp1200r it has no power it gets to about 4000revs in the water but revs out on the trailer any ideas? it feels like ignition to me

    First thing i would do is check compression....

    Welcome to the Hulk..

    1) Check compression as mentioned.

    2) Do the exhaust valves cycle?

    3) Check your pump and impeller for damage or crap in the pump.

    4) Report your findings.

    Welcome to the forum.All good ideas as metioned above,aslo,has the cat con been replaced/removed with a D plate?

    i put my finger in the holes all had compression checked with gauge has 140psi. engine has just been rebuilt i had it out and it was about 80% but was way to rich now about 40% power?

    were the carbs rebuilt when the engine was done?

    What about the rest of this list.... i had a plug foul out and it would get to about 4500 rpm's and 15 mph....

    pump shoe does that, collapsed exhaust hose does that, and the cdi will do the same.

    does it cavitate in the water? Check to see if your accel pump is stuck open.
