Looking to get "REAL" Mobile Internet
I am trying to find a way to get internet in my truck, Essentially a Mobile hot spot anytime the engine is running. Does anyone have any ideas on how to achieve this?? I have seen it on those "trick my truck" type shows but I have not seen anything in stores or online. Someone has to be able to help me out!!
Thanks alot in advanced

What you are wanting is is a Mobile Wireless Access Point. Some new cars will be coming with the option to have them very soon. I think a few already have them.
You can get them aftermarket. Depends all on your wireless provider. Who do you have?

Right now I have AT&T, What type of price range would you expect this to be in?

You are going to need a 3G Wireless USB Modem from AT&T. The modem you can get for free usually with a 2 year contract. The service depends. I know it will be 60 a month for sure.
Then you are going to need one of these.
You plug the modem into it to have it wireless to anyone in range.

That is way to easy!!, just what i was looking for, I'll have to call AT&T and see how much it will be since I already Pay for the 3G network for my iphone.

Since you have an iphone you can use the 3G in your iphone. Just gotta use connect via wifi to your iphone using an app called pdanet, this way u can use your existing 3G that your paying for.

Does PDAnet require you to "jailbreak" your iphone to get it to work?

Yea, you would have to jailbreak your iphone to get that to work. If you go over a certain amount of bandwidth used you will get a notice from AT&T telling you tethering on the iphone is illegal. They have a tethering fee but it is not offered on the iphone at this time.
The way that can work is that you setup an Ad-hoc connect through your PC and Iphone. If another computer is in the car they could join the Ad-hoc network also.

+1 on pdanet
I cancelled my home phone and home internet and use pdanet to connect both my laptop and desktop to internet wirelessly through PDA net for past 2 months. No notices from ATT yet (crossing fingers)
This weekend we had a Raleigh boat show, and I also used my iphone as credit card processor through authorize.net and it worked very well for mobile credit card processing
