Blowoff kits? (Are they a must?)

What are you saying about them?

Are they a must when running a Rude2, XS..?

    Thanks for inputs!

NO, imo they are not. Your SCer is run off of the gear on the fly wheel. So when you let of the gas the SCer is comming off boost aswell, just as your tb is closeing. So I really don't see the need for one.

I THOUGHT,or understand they only helped those lovely ceramics we were all blessed with, other than that they were or are a waste of money, just like those ceramic washers funily enough

I know there are alot of different opinions on this, I run 1 but it is a good 1. 170 worth of turbosmart Vee Port. My feeling is that the weak link in our skis is the SC and its clutch setup so even if it does not help the life of the washers It will help take some of the stress out of the SC. The bearings get a hard time as well and reliving excess boost takes the strain out of the sc. I ride it 100% salt and it is rarely flat, I unhook constantly and running the BOV helps to relive the stress on the SC. My type of riding is the worst on these SCs and I have had no problems to date. There is a reason that people have been running BOVs on boosted engines for years. It stops compressor surge in tubos and relives stress and belt wear in belt driven SC setups. My 0.2 R88

Mark im wondering if he had a touch down which broke a blade and then that blade went through and caused the rest of the damage. The billet wheels are renound for touch downs. Maybe a BOV could have helped in this area. R88
