    pitch gauge

    am i seing things !! just got a watcon pitch gauge, i put my 14/19r in the gauge and it looks like a 13/17 maybe i am doing something wrong!

    Probably close to right. Besure your put the line on gauge at the bottom of the blade or underside of blade and not top of blade.

    yes our props do sometimes measure different then what they claim.

    Check all 4 leading and trailering edges on first and last inch of blade.

    Richie, when you read the trailing and leading edges you are only looking at the last 1" or so of the blades. It can be confusing and look like a totally different pitch if you look at it wrong, but it is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

    okay jerry, the line has to run through the center of the last inch of the trailing and leading edge correct... if that is i was reading it wrong. next question... to raise or lower rpm i bend the trailing edge correct.. if so what effect does bending the leading edge have?

    The leading edge effects holeshot and the trailing edge effects top speed (or so I've been told).

    okay think i have it now... so i guess this 14/19 isn't a 14/19 after all. its close though

    Ok I am going to hi-jack this a tiny bit! How do you know what to start with for a impellar? The chart says different then what some people say.I have a 07 GTX Limited with a wedge,Riva Impellar,Riva power filter(thanks busa504)And soon to have an XS intercooler.The chart says 13/20 But others have said 14/19.What to do?
