Wow , what a mess. Wire brush/naval jelly/sand paper.......I don't know what would work best but I think you can save it. It will definitely take alot of elbow grease to clean that up. Did you buy it off of the forum?

Thats the worst I have seen.
It coul probably be cleaned up and rebuilt but if it were me I would replace it with a good clean used one. You can pick up used stock chargers for cheap. I would be very concerned about the condition of the bearings in that unit and even if it cleaned up you would need to rebuild it. IMO

I would use emery cloth not a wire brush you don't want to gouge anything. I would remove the fan and put the front housing along with fan in some kind of solution then use some spray and a nylon brush to get the rest off.

yea i was thinkin the cloth, and as far as the fan goes i have the stock one off of my 05 rxt, this charger goes on an 07 rxt that was damanged from IKE, but there is no signs of water in the oil and there is no water in the cyclinders. i gotta pull the IC and make sure there is no water in there

with the sc looking like that I would highly be concerned what the rest of the engine looks like.

oil looked great, back of the chager great, bearings look awesome, spark plugs look good, the throttle body great no corrosion on the butterfly, the only 2 things i have not checked are the IC and down inside the cyclinders, i need to get one of those bore scopes
