    EFI Settings

I bought my '03 GPR with the EFI already "professionally tuned." The settings were 3.3.1.6. With that setting, the red light (indicating top-end fueling) turned on at 4K rpm. Increasing the cross-over pot to "8" tuned on top-end fueling at 6K rpm, and turning the crossover to "11" turns on the top-end fueling at 7K rpm.

According to R&D's instructions, the top-end fueling should be turned on at max rpms (which would be 7K in my case). I haven't heard of anybody using "11" on the last pot? Am I way off base here or do I just have an EFI controller that is really "off"?

they are all off 3-4k in rpms. So that is why you see lots of people with the huge numbers at the end of the number stream --like 6-6-1-9 or 6-6-1-11 (these #'s are for non ported motors)==then there are numbers close to 6-6-6-9 and 6-6-6-10 (for ported motors).

Adjust the cross-over (#4) to come on around 5500 rpms.

WFO - Why should I adjust the crossover to 5500 rpm? I'm not disputing this, but it is contrary to the R&D or Riva instructions. Wouldn't that cause the engine to go into top-end fueling when you open the throttle and the rpms flash up over 5500?

Those instructions are only a guide. That setting worked the best for me.

OK. Thanx for the replies. I guess I'll just try it and see.
