So all apart and DIY cleaning

So i have 3 Blue motor apart. I'm putting one together and am finding things like heads and cooling rails loaded up with white calcium and salt deposits. You inland fresh water guys have it nice. So how do you clean up these parts. I tried muriatic acid on some heads and i thought they would self destruct in time. Wire brush and tons of eblow grease.......Any Help
    thanks

Muratic acid I'd think would accelerate aluminum deterioration. There's a product called salt away you may want to try. Should be sold at marinas or online.

Other than that, a wire wheel and drill would be my best suggestion.

Yeah, you don't want to use Muriatic Acid on aluminum parts! Muriatic Acid is what I use to dissolve aluminum from cast iron cylinder liners when a piston has siezed.... Works great at that, by the way!
The last salt water ski I rebuilt, I used a tiny wire brush (shaped like a toothbrush) on what I could reach, and ignored the rest. Salt-Away sounds good, but I've never used it.

Stay away from the acids!!!! Salt-a-away in your bath tub with hot water will work really well!

Oh, I totally forgot about ZMann's trick; super hot water, dishwasher and Cascade! It's the sheeting action... Seriously, it worked really well on some of the corroded parts on my 89 Kawi standup.

Just don't let your wife see you.....
