Trying to understand Impeller Pitch
Hey guys.......used the Search function but was unable to come up with a thread dedicated to understanding impeller pitch....
I know as far as pwc impellers go.......the first number is the impeller blades' leading angle of attack.....while the second number is the trailing edge degree of pitch (similar to gearing in a car?). The pitch of the Skat prop im using now is a 13/23, upgraded from a stock 12/19. Unfortunately...the ski still has too much holeshot (problems...) and i'm hitting the limiter on the top end (in 70 degree weather).
Repitching to a 13/24 or a 13/25 would get me off the limiter......but when should the first number (12 or 13 or 14) be changed....what effect do the prop blades leading angle of attack have on my ski's performance?

I think that if you're spinning the prop on holeshot "cavitating", you need to up the pitch on the leading edge. I also think that you don't want to much of a "spread" between the leading edge and trailing edge. In other words I've been told that when you up the pitch on the trailing edge you should also up the leading edge. Don't quote me as I'm no prop expert.
