SHO hard to start
Any one else had starting probs with the SHO?
After idling for a while, then turn it off and go to start it again it just winds over and over without firing, it also shows L on the dash.
Been to dealer, nothing shows up, tried new plugs, has had the crimped fuel line prob fixed.
Any help would be great thanks.

Here is a list you could check.
The ones underlined i would check first
Fuel tank breather hose
Engine oil (maybe to low)
Air filter(need to clean or change)
Valves and Valve seats
Hope this helps you.

If my SHO has been sitting for a few days, it always takes a few extra cranks to start, but after that, it starts right up...
That sounds exactly opposite of what you're seeing, though

When I first got my SHO it did the same thing. There was not enough clearance in the throttle cable and an SHO will not fire if the throttle is open at all. The dealer adjusted the throttle cable and it works fine. Took them 5 minutes under warranty.
BTW It is my understanding that this is a Yamaha feature that allows you to open the throttle and crank the motor with no fuel or spark to clear a fouled plug. I have used it for just that on my 04FXHO.
Hope this helps.
