VF3 question? Reed Assembly / Assembling Reeds

So this probably sounds dumb but I got my ski pulled aprt for the VF3s and do I need to pull the plate off that is behind the stock reeds? or do I still retain it? (the plate is like .100" thick) thanks guys

Yes, the new VF3 Reed spacer will go against the case, then the stock reed spacer will go between the carbs and VF3 spacer.

on a 1200 it will be in this order from carbs to case

    carbs - gasket - stock spacer - gasket - VF3 spacer w/reeds - gasket - case

there should only be 1 stock spacer plate for a 1200, 2 on a 1300.
    its it a 12R or 13R

Is yours a 1300 or 1200? If its a 1300r it will be:

    1) throttle bodies
    2) oem balance plate (the thick one)
    3) rubber gasket
    4) oem reed valve plate (the thin one)
    5) vf-3 gaskets
    6) vf-3 spacer with cages/reeds installed
    7) vf-3 gaskets
