NOTE:try to run all the fuel /oil off you can before going premix.
Take your pipe out,stinger/U shape section, remove oil pump, drain oil into can, blastic bottle etc.....easier to have most of the oil used up before going pre-mix, you must cap off the 3 lines going into carbs/TB's.Buy yourself a block off plate/gasket that takes the place of the oil pump. After oil is out of the tank, install a plug at the end of the line and clamp it. Reinstall pipe and your done. Determine the amount of fuel left in the tank and add THAT amount of oil into the tank.As a rule, before i ride,i add all my oil to the cans before i leave, that way i know there is the proper amount of oil in them when i hit the station.
Even though the fuel/oil mixes while driving, always shake the can anyway before adding fuel to you ski.

can i not just keep it all in.... and just empty the bottle.... thus having no oil present and then go premix wilst still having the pump installed??

No,remove the pump.It will burn up with no oil going through it.

i think by doing that you'll just be creating problems by running the oil pump dry.

does anybody have any links to pics of removal details?

i left my oil tank in place with oil in so that you dont get the warning buzzer, just clamped the pipe, put the block off plate, emptied the fuel tank and away you go.

could i not just take the oil pipes off the carbs... run them back to the tank outlet so the oil is always looping the same oil round the system.....
and then run premix..??

Oil Pump Removal Oil Pump Block-off Blockoff
As mentioned above ^
- Run out as much oil as possible
- Remove the Exhaust pipe(s) to gain access to the oil pump, oil lines to carbs and linkage cable.
- Remove the oil pump
- Drain rest of oil tank; then cap bottom of oil supply fitting on tank.
- Remove Oil Sending Unit & Zip-Tie the floats in the "UP" position; This is to fool/prevent the low oil alarm from going off.
- Reinstall Oil Sending Unit
- Install an oil block off plate
- Replace the Exhaust pipe(s)
