    Ultimate engine combo???

With all the parts now available, thought it might be interesting to build the ultimate engine combo (figuratively speaking), lets try and keep a total budget of say 15-18k, engine supercharger/turbo alone

Assume this is to be for a very very fast recreation ski, with good longevity (i.e no 10 sec wonder)

Feel free to list your ideal combo and est HP numbers (or actual if you have built the motor)

    My combo:
    Built short block (pistons/rods)
Ported head, Riva Valve train, valves retainers etc
    Rotax Racing Cam
    Motec M400 ECU
Supercharger either 2rude or Engine tech 68-140
    PWR Barrel cooler
    Open loop cooling

You guys get the idea, so let's see those ideas you have been cooking up in your head!!

Rude or bkit, ecu to rpm of 8500-8600, external intercooler, intake mod leave the motor stock.. Fast and quite reliable for a rec rider and not to bad on the fuel.. Any larger supercharger and you need alot more fuel to support it, not the best for those longer cruise days..

    Interesting thread though.

    I'll take a shot...

Welded and offset ground stock crank for 65 mm stroke
Sleeved and bored block to 105 mm (1700 cc total)
    Ported head with oversized valves
Bkit cam, lightened stock valves, Ti retainers, stock springs
    Ross pistons
    Stock intake manifold
    Hydro's header
BWA K27.2 turbo (jacketed turbine, internal WG) running 18 psi boost
    Bell Intercooler
Microsquirt ECU running 79 lb/hr injectors, 255 lph pump, EDIS 6 for ignition

220 hp naturally aspirated. 450 hp with boost at 8000 rpm, reliably.

not sure how long the rings would last in a bored, stroked, boosted motor like that because of piston speeds but damn.....would be fun to find out!!!

That's the great thing...the piston speeds wouldn't be any higher than stock!
