    have sick 1050/will this work

Hi, i have a 1999 sltx 1050. The mag crank is thrown and locked up. I located a 1997 900 motor. Will it fit my ski. can i use the lower end of the motor. Or will the stroke be off. Would a 900 motor be too underpowered. and would it bolt right in.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you have the entire 900 motor, including the carbs?

If you use the carbs from the 1050, you may need to change the jetting for the 900.

The 900 will be down a little on RPM at WOT compared to the 1050, but the motor will fit into the hull, no problem.

If you swap in the impeller from the 900 machine, it would be a closer match, of course.

Rich,If it's a good motor, you could sell your good parts off the 1050 to help recoop your cost.

The 900 and 1050 bottom ends are identical,if you want to swap the top ends to keep it a 1050,you won't have any trouble,as long as the 1050 top pieces are good.
As Lugs wrote the 900 is only 1 or 2, maybe 3 mph slower from the factory back in 97 in the SL hulls. My friend has a 900,I've spent alot of time riding along side him on my 1050.
