    trim tabs

finally got around to the hot seat trim tabs for the pro.i went a different route for mounting.i've seen lots of pics were others were mounted flush to the hull bottom and h/s are mounted 1/2" up.i changed that and mounted them flush.the right side required grinding the exhaust flange for clearance.i originally was going to use bolts and washers but realized how much trouble that was going to be on that side so i just screwed them into the glass like h/s did.the left side required modding the drain plug and hacking off a piece of the mounting flange that will need a hole filled in for strength.but the overall look and function appears to be exactly what i wanted.i'll be able to adjust them for handling or up for just flat out speed.

    they do look nice
i do have 1 tip for ya ,,,,,,,,,
    DONT WAVE JUMP
i just donated some pretty anoidized(sp) parts to the ocean floor ..
it wasent so much hitting them on waves as it was from over-rotate and the tabs end up catching water on the topside of the tabs ...
i bent a bunch of stuff and broke 1 piece and lost 3 or so "couplers/pivots" to the sea
mine are hand operated ,so there was some movement in them (not riged mounted)but with the stuff that is just bent ,i have no doubt it would pull out the hull(unless you used a thru-bolt and washer then nut)
just some things i learned (the hard way) this week,,that and change my bilge to a computer controlled (turn on every 30 seconds to sense if water is there) for when i devlope a leak apperently as i tie up to go eat and its over my ebox by the end of lunch
    sorry bout the rant
    tabs look sweet man

    tabs

yeah i thought about the wave jumping thing,i don't jump more than a boat wake,no ocean waves.the thing just tries to leave so hard i needed something to make it launch,i'm really thinking its the attachment point at the top that concerns me,i might go back and use bolts and washers there, those i can access by cutting away a little foam

    ready to go

got the left base back from txgp1300r.excellent job.little grinding for fitmet and ready to rock.i redid the upper mounting brackets by inserting thru bolts and double fender washers and poly nuts inside.much more secure of mounting.first runs will be all the way up as the ski is set for smooth water and will start to lower to see if mph suffers and how far down i can go for smooth water.when i get the 8 vane and skat back in i figure flat with the bottom of the hull to start
