    New to GHPF

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, but have been thinking about getting a ski for some time.

I live in Miami, but will be spending 7 weeks in the lower keys at a house with a dock as part of my education (awesome!!!) so I want to take advantage of that by doing a couple of things while down there. I am an avid spearfisher, but given that the big fish are out further, I talked my wife into getting a ride for when we are down there. I only talked her into a $2k budget for the ski, and will be keeping my eyes open for a good deal in the next 2 months before I leave, but wanted to get some input about what to avoid since my price range will likely put me at a 97-02 year, and I don't know much about brand quality. Her family own a Yamaha dealership in WA, so those yamaha's are always prefered, but the family discount won't fit my budget plus it is too far away to do any good.

Any way, any recommendations of what would be a good ski, or features to look for one within this price range would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Stephen

    What about this one...

Thanks for the heads up. I am looking at one this weekend. Any thoughts on a 1996 SeaDoo GTX for $2100. It looks nice and is in my pricerange, but 96 is kindof old.

Looks nice on the outside, but no pictures of the engine compartment?

Also, he is asking way too much. Nada used value $1400-$1500.

    Welcome !
Check auto dealers who do auctions on craigslist. They may go to the auction for $200-300 commission, but push them cos they are lazy. 2002-2004 jetski you can get for $2000. Bring your battery to start it before bidding (get it on fleabay new and cheap).
Craigslist sellers put ridiculous prices for old junk...
