    Back fire ?

I have not ridin my ski yet this season. But I have done a few things to it. I just installed a D plate and cat temp sensor among other things such as impeller and ride plate. My question is this. I fired it up for the first time after installing all the parts. With the ski out of the water if I rev it up it back fires and you can feel the precusion inside the hull. It could be that it has not been cleared out. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before?

    Backfires are not good.

I agree that they are not good. The only thing on the engine that I changed was the dplate and chip.

Yes, I added the efi controller when I did the d-plate. I think you could be lean.

If thats the case then i will take the dplate off. Im not remapping the ski. I just want to do the mods that are bolt ons. I work all day long with tunning ecms and pcms. I dont want to have to worry about the ski being lean or rich.

I know its plug and play. I just dont want to go that deep into the ski. I just want a toy that i can get on and ride without having to worry about tearing up. And I know that the efi is tried and true. I just dont want to get into the engine at all.

Mine started backfiring when I had either a lean condition, or one of the reed valves were cracked in half.
