Plastic Truck Storage Box Mounted on PWC Trailer

Here are pics of a Contico Truck Box from Lowe's that I mounted on my McClain Galvanized PWC Trailer.
    Very easy install.
It can be done several ways.
I was first going to use galvanized U-bolts from a Boating store until I found out how much the u-bolts were (10.99) each for 5" u-bolts.

I Went to Lowe's and found all the hardware (parts numbers listed in pic) for less then 15.00. Galvanized Too !

    Contico Truck Box (49.99)
    Hardware from Lowe's (14.00)
    Michelob Ultra (free)
    Satisfaction (priceless)

    Project Time (1 hour)

I did not use all 6 bolts. just 4.

    1/2 Aluminum Trim Channel

Drill slightly to just to mark it.

Set box on ground to keep stable and drill all the way thru.

Push 5/16" galvanized bot and washer thru.

    All 4 bolts hanging down.

    Rear brackets mounted

    Front brackets mounted

I made these from some 3/4" wide aluminum strap I had laying around. I originally planned ot use a large washer under the top washer.
You can use just the washers, but I decided to use straps on top too to help distribute the mounting surface are more with these. Larger washers can do the same effect. Just place a larger washer under the top washer to give it more surface are to hold to.

Man that GTI looks really clean i hope you guys are enjoying it.
Yessir. Notice the rear flanks ! all white.
Whats sad Scott is that the GTI hasn't hit the water since the day I bought it. It's been ona flush several times..... due to my work schedule, it hasn't seen water.....nor the GPR....... I hope to go today !!!

But, I hope my girls and I use the heck out of it this summer.

SMW, yeah I had a double trailer back in the mid 90's for two Doo's with a plastic box on it. I didn't install it, it already came that way. But I do remember non galvanized hardware that was used and it didn't take long for it to rust away from the salt water eating up the bolts (corrosion) from the inside of the box. One day I leaned on it and the box broke free !

How come you didnt drill drainage holes in it?

I did the same thing you did but mine came from sears, was a little bigger, and cost $100 because at the time I couldnt find anything cheaper....

anyway, I had to drill holes at the bottom corners of the box because water kept getting inside it and my lifejackets kept getting musty/funky/stinky
