Riva high flow pump strainer- press. relief

Can i use the riva high flow pump strainer to bleed off pump pressure? This seems like a simple idea to bleed off some of the pressure vs. drilling/tapping my 2" extension. thanks!

no, you want to reduce the pressure in front of the impeller, not behind it

You will be taking water pressure off your cooling system anyway.
