    Unhappy Vibration suggestions??

    No jokes !
I have 2 98 xl 1200's both with new motors built by me! both run great and hit all the proper rpm's and top speeds
the one with atrued and welded HR crank ( just putting it out there)
Vibrates like hell just off idle 2k to 3k then it's done It Idles fine and and in the upper rpm's you don't feel it
I checked and replaced 2 mounts when I built the motor the replacements were used and felt a tad harder than the old good ones
I just realigned the motor and replaced the dampener( thx Crahhard)
I have rebuilt the jet pump , replaced tunnel bearing and seals, Impros did the impeller and I checked the drive shaft for true , I HAVE NOT touched the mid shaft but it spins around nice any clues?

I'm thinking I might start swapping parts between the ski's also compression is even

The only thing that helped the dreaded 65U shaker motors was the fluid dampening coupler. Very rare to find one these days.

Well identical ski's but one is crazy bad the other is just a Harley like 3 smoker
It really drove me nuts when I had to tow the good running one in do to a blown hose I was towing right in the vibrating range
ps A spare spark plug a knife and a hose clamp come in handy to block the water inlet

I have the big one pretty calmed down but it still shakes. We will see how the GP does in a month or so. The one thing about the FD coupler is it was made from steel and was twice as heavy as the OEM one.

my first generation Polaris tripple had a steel 3 inch chunk of steel around the coupler they didn't use them after 92 ? wonder if spinning mass has something to do with calming vibration?
anyway I am going to pull the pump and replace the impeller on a whim
when I say shake I mean like the 6 million dollar man's " She's Breaking up"

If they both did it I would not be so curious but with only one doing it I better get it figured I think they both have 12hours in them

No but they were new and the same weight
Bill I was wondering what does doubling up the check valves do? I'm wondering if I should try it on this one? also do you remember your adjuster settings on your 1200? thx Z

what about the engine mount shims?

engine out of alignment does not always rob speed but can give a good reverberation

    just a thought
