Any 98 GS skis out there??

I have my eye on a 98 GS that is currently not running. I have been searching the 2-stroke forum for any threads on other folks' GS's. I have not found any!! Does anyone have an opinion on this ski, e.g., how was it when new, any service problems, any issues with rotax engine, etc.?? Tell me what you think!!

The 720 engine is very reliable. No known problems, other than owner induced.

How about a little history? You acquire it running? If yes, what were you doing when it quit? How long since it has ran? How long did it run before failing? You swap in new spark plugs?

    Need more info.

    And, welcome to GH!

This is just a ski I saw advertised, I do not know the specifics of when it was last running and what happened after that.

    I have a 97 GSI.

X2 on the 720, it's a very reliable motor if taken care of.

If it needs much in the way of work then you need to get it for almost nothing because in running condition they aren't worth much. Unless you know exactly what's wrong it can turn into a money pit really fast.

I got mine for free and went through the whole ski and rebuilt the engine, cleaned the carb, replaced all the fuel lines and rebuilt the pump. Now I know what I have and the condition it's in. I did this not to make money on it but have a cheap reliable ski. Three years now and nothing but maintenance.

That hull with the 720 is no rocket ship, it's not very comfortable with two people on it and I find it will beat the pulp out of you on a choppy lake. It's a great second ski for cruising, lite towing and generally messing around on.

I don't think so. But you can confirm by searching the parts list to the left to see if they are the same part numbers.
