As most of you may already know, late last year our son
Angelo was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder called
PDD-NOS. We have been through an amazing journey with him
since that diagnosis, and we watch Angelo recover a little
bit more everyday. We belive there is a cure out there, and
are determined to help find it.
We are walking to raise money for Autism Speaks to help find a cure and to raise awareness.
The walk is on Saturday April 18th, 2009 in Broward County.
Please walk with Angelo! Join team MyKidsCounty.org!
Even if you are not able to walk with us, please help
Angelo and other families affected by autism. Any donations
will be greatly appreciated and 100% of your donation goes
to Autism Speaks for research, awareness and to find a cure!
With all our love,
The Baldassarra Family

My 23 year old Son has Autism, we have lived with this disorder since he was diagnosed at age 3. It can be taxing at times and the most joyous at times. He learns things at his pace, sometimes he makes great leaps forward and other times he just retreats in to his own little world. He hasn't spoken since he was two, he had seizure's and lost the ability to speak. At age six he contracted spinal menegitis which damged him even further. He has been through more in his short life than several normal people have in a lifetime. He is now in speech therapy and he is responding well. He has quite a list of words he wants to say and this is the first time he has really tried to speak. He is really blowing my mind right now, it brings tears to my eyes watching him try and speak you have no idea.
I urge everyone to help in anyway they can.
BTW it took me two and half years to get Alex to feel comfortable on the Ski. He now is a very experienced rider and has GPS'd the ski at 51mph. Two riders of course
