07 250x supercharger belt snapped
Ski has only done 80 hours.
How does this happen? is it becuase the dealer hasent been doing the proper servicing?
It was just in for its service, got about 5 minute ride on it and it wouldnt rev over 3 grand. upon taking it back to the dealer they said the belt has snapped.
they said they need to unblot the engine and move it forward to get to the belt.
they have never done it before, what kind of labour bill should i expect?
Am using WaterCraft World in Auckland, New Zealand.

if they know what they're doing it should only take about 40 mins to change the belt. supercharger hose, intake, motor mounts, oil catch can, tensioner, belt cover. VIOLA. may have missed a few things but its not bad once you have done it before. 80 hours sounds a little shy for it snapping. they may have had it too tight or too loose often. i changed my first belt at like 160 hrs but it was watched closely. Belts cost 45 bucks in the US and maybe 60 bucks for labor.

i think it could happen because of grease in the belt.
i am over 80 and never add that problem...

2 hrs will cover it easly,even doing spare belt holder
I would suggest putting a spare belt on while the engine is forward,
just do a search on belt holder, you can see how easy it is to make.
and in the event it ever happens your good to go

Post 1 and open the PDF "K-Tech 20-1.pdf"
Read the last part of page 15 and all of 16. If your tech needs help them print the entire PDF out for him. Should only be charged 1.5 hrs labor and the price of the belt. Add another .5 hrs if you want them to clean out the hull.

the Kawi labor guide pays 2 hours for belt change. our shop is 90.00 per hour plus belt price and 10.00 shop chemicals. depending on you area it could be a little higher or lower. most people with over 100 hours have still not changed the belt yet?
